VOLUNTEERS
Become a Volunteer

Volunteers are special people at Pacific Asian Counseling Services.
They contribute in many ways to help our clients move towards self-sufficiency. Some like Chris come during the week to mentor the students in the after school program, others like Harry act as advisors on special projects like researching how to set up a videoconferencing system. PACS loves its volunteers!
Some volunteer opportunities are:
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR:
Assist in recruiting and organizing a volunteer program.
OUTREACH ASSISTANT & COMMUNITY EDUCATOR:
Assist Community Service Specialist staff to promote the Agency’s programs and services at various community events. Assist with community education workshops by developing workshop materials and making presentations.
SPECIAL EVENTS:
Events such as Back to School (September) and field trips (summer) are planned for clients. Volunteers are needed to help plan, organize, and help on the day of the event.
MENTOR FOR A DAY:
Spend an hour or two to talk with with youths in the YES Program about your job/career.
Y.E.S. TUTOR:
The Y.E.S. Program needs dedicated volunteers to provide one-on-one tutoring in all subjects at the Long Beach office and the Pueblo del Rio Housing Development in South Central Los Angeles. The minimum commitment is 2 hours per week for at least 3 months. Volunteers work closely with the Y.E.S. staff. Please contact Stephanie Yamada, Director of Community Services at 562.424.1886 x1158 for more information. You may change a child’s life!
